Chili (family recipe)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1.5- 2 onions diced

  • 3 cloves of garlic minced/grated

  • 2 Tbsp oil

  • 14 oz can crushed tomatoes (half can of 28oz )

  • 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar

  • 1/4 cup chili powder (spice classics brand)

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 16 oz can of pinto beans(drained and rinsed)

Instructions

  1. Dice onions and in a large pot on medium seat add oil and diced onion let sweat down till starting to turn translucent

  2. Add garlic cook a little then add meat

  3. Once half way cooked add salt, chili powder, cumin.

  4. Add the crushed tomatoes and vinegar

  5. Add drained beans

  6. Simmer on low without lid if very liquid. If consistency is good than cover and simmer for at least 2-3 hours. Check and stir frequently as to not burn the bottom.
