Honey walnut shrimp

1 large serving

Ingredients

  • About 12 shrimp

  • 1/4 cup corn starch

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 2 egg whites


  • 1/2 cup walnuts

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup kewpie mayo

  • 2 Tbsp sweeten condensed milk

  • 2 Tbsp honey

  • 1 tsp lemon juice


Instructions

  1. In a small pot add about 2Tbsp water and the brown sugar and walnuts

  2. Heat until bubbly and a thick syrup is formed then spread onto parchment to let cool

  3. Mix all of the sauce ingredients together in a bowl save for after

  4. Mix your egg whites, corn starch, flour and shrimp together to form a light batter.

  5. Pour about 1/4" of frying oil into a pan or pot and fry the shrimp at 350 for about 30 seconds per side

  6. Drain on rack or some paper towels and let cool to room temp

  7. Heat frying oil to 400F and fry till lightly golden

  8. Drain on rack or some paper towels

  9. Add to a serving bowl and mix together with sauce and add the walnuts

  10. Enjoy
